Privacy Policy

Effective August 28, 2026; updated September 28, 2026 for the iPhone and Android apps; section 5 updated September 29, 2026; section 3 updated September 30, 2026; sections 2 and 4 updated October 1, 2026; section 4 updated October 2, 2026; sections 1 and 2 updated October 13, 2026 for visit counting. Plain English on purpose. This is the policy of Semble Weddings LLC, and it covers sembleweddings.com and any Semble mobile application.

1 · The short version

We collect only what the service needs to work. We never sell your information, never share it for advertising, and never track you across other sites or apps. There are no ad networks and no analytics beacons in Semble. We count visits to our own public pages ourselves, on our own server, without identifying anyone (details below). Because Semble doesn't track you, there's nothing for a browser's "Do Not Track" setting to turn off; Semble works the same either way.

2 · What we collect, and why

InformationWhere it comes fromWhy we have it
Your email address and a scrambled (hashed) password and recovery code You, at sign-upSigning you in and recovering your account. We could not read your real password if we tried.
Your wedding's content: names, roles, contact details, notes, photos, item and schedule details, sizes and answers, progress You and your wedding partyThis is the app doing its job: showing each person their page and you your dashboard.
Payment confirmation (a Stripe receipt identifier, or an Apple or Google Play transaction identifier, the date, the amount) Stripe, Apple or Google, after you payKnowing your wedding is open. We never receive or store card numbers.
A login cookieYour browser, when you sign inKeeping you signed in. It identifies your session and nothing else.
Ordinary server logs (IP address, request, time)Automatic Security and keeping the service running; kept briefly.
Visit counts for the public pages: the day, the page, the country (and, in the U.S., the state) the visit came from, and the site that sent you Automatic, when the public pages are visited Knowing how many people visit and where from. The place is worked out on our own server from the network address, and the address itself is not kept: nothing in a visit count identifies you, nothing connects one day to the next, and no other company is involved. Signed-in visits aren't counted at all.
The time zone your wedding's events are in You, on the Schedule pagePutting the schedule's times on the right clock when anyone adds it to their calendar.
Documents or pages you submit to the schedule-drafting feature You, when you choose to use itProducing the draft you asked for.
Your phone's notification address (a device token), in the Semble app only Your phone, if you allow notificationsSending the reminders you asked for. It identifies the phone for notifications and nothing else, and is removed when you delete your account.

In the Semble app (iPhone and Android): the camera and photo library open only when you choose to add a photo, and only the photo you pick is uploaded. Semble can add your day-of schedule to your calendar. On iPhone it cannot read your calendar at all. Android has no add-only permission, so there Semble asks for calendar access and uses it only to find your default calendar to add the events to; it doesn't read your events, and nothing in your calendar is sent to us. Notifications are optional and can be turned off in your phone's Settings.

We do not collect location from your phone, ever. The only location we have is the country and state a website visit came from, as described above, and that is never tied to a person. We do not collect contacts, advertising identifiers, or health data, and we do not profile you.

3 · Wedding party members

Members never create accounts or passwords. Their information is entered by the wedding's organizer, and their page is reachable only by its private, unguessable link. Anyone with a member's link can view that member's page, so links should be shared only with their person; the organizer can replace any link at any time, which disables the old one. Semble notes when each person first and last opened their private page, so the couple can see who has seen it. Semble never contacts wedding party members.

4 · Who touches your data

Only the service providers Semble stands on, each for its own job and nothing more:

  • Render (render.com): hosts the application and database on servers in the United States.
  • Stripe (stripe.com): processes payments on its own pages, under its own privacy policy. Card details go to Stripe directly, never to us.
  • Anthropic (anthropic.com): powers the optional schedule-drafting feature. Only after you say yes on the Schedule page, the documents, links and notes you add there, with your names, wedding date, looks, and your wedding party's names and roles, are sent to Anthropic's API to write the draft. They are not used by us for anything else, and you can turn sharing off on the Schedule page at any time.
  • Apple (apple.com): processes purchases made in the iPhone app, under its own privacy policy, and delivers the notifications you allow to your iPhone.
  • Google (google.com): processes purchases made in the Android app through Google Play, under its own privacy policy, and delivers the notifications you allow to your Android phone through Firebase Cloud Messaging.
  • Google Fonts: serves the typefaces; your browser requests the font files from Google, which sees the technical request.
  • Google Calendar: only if you, or someone in your wedding party, chooses to add the schedule to Google Calendar. Google then reads that schedule (a person's own lines, or the couple's whole schedule from their private calendar link) and checks back for changes, under Google's own privacy policy. Adding it with the Apple Calendar button works the same way: the calendar app (or Apple, for calendars kept in iCloud) checks that private address for changes, under its own privacy policy. Inside the Semble app, the schedule goes straight into the phone's calendar instead.

We choose providers whose own commitments protect your information at least as well as this policy does, and we share with each only what its job requires. Every provider we share personal data with provides the same or equal protection of it as this policy and Apple's and Google's app store rules require. We share nothing with anyone else, and we never sell or rent personal information to anybody. As the California Consumer Privacy Act puts it, we do not "sell" or "share" personal information.

5 · How long we keep things, and deletion

Your wedding's data stays as long as your account does. To delete your account, whenever you like: sign in, in the Semble app or at sembleweddings.com, open Settings, and choose Delete your account at the bottom. Your wedding, its photos, and its members' pages are removed from the live service. Nightly backups exist so weddings can survive accidents; backups age out on a rolling basis, so deleted data leaves the backup set as those backups expire, within about two weeks. Ask us and we will confirm when it's fully gone.

Deleting some of your data, without closing your account

You can remove most things yourself, whenever you like, in the Semble app or at sembleweddings.com. Each is removed from the live service straight away, and leaves the backups within about two weeks, as above.

  • Someone in your wedding party: on Party, choose Remove for that person. Their page, their sizes, and the ideas and photos they sent go with them.
  • A look or an item: on Looks, choose Edit look and then Delete this look, or edit the item and choose Delete this item. Their photos go with them.
  • A photo: choose × or Remove on it.
  • A line of your schedule, or a file you added for drafting: on Schedule, choose Delete this line, or × beside the file.
  • Your phone's notification address: in the app's Settings, turn Nudges off.
  • Anything else (for example an idea you have declined, or your answer to "How did you hear about Semble?"): write to support@sembleweddings.com from the email address you sign in with and tell us what to delete. We will delete it within seven days and confirm when it's done.

6 · Your rights and choices

  • See it: ask and we will send you a copy of the personal information we hold about you or your wedding.
  • Fix it: nearly everything is editable directly in the app; anything else, ask.
  • Delete it: as described above, at any time.
  • Take it with you: ask and we will export your wedding's data in a portable format.
  • Withdraw consent: turn off AI drafting with "Stop sharing" on the Schedule page, turn off notifications in your phone's Settings, or delete your account entirely, at any time.

We answer every such request at hello@sembleweddings.com (or by post to Semble Weddings LLC, 30 N Gould St #69082, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA), and we do not discriminate against anyone for exercising a privacy right. California residents may exercise their CCPA rights this way; residents of other places with privacy laws may do the same, and we will honor the spirit of those laws for everyone.

7 · Security

Everything travels over HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as strong one-way hashes. Member pages use long random links that cannot be guessed. Access to production data is limited to the operator. No internet service can promise perfect security, but Semble's design keeps the valuable secrets (your password, your card) out of our hands entirely.

8 · Children

Semble is not directed at children, and account holders must be 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. A wedding party sometimes includes minors (a junior bridesmaid, a ring bearer); their details are entered by the organizer, who confirms they have the consent of a parent or guardian to do so. A parent or guardian can have a minor's information removed by writing to us.

9 · Where the data lives

Semble is operated from the United States and stores data in the United States. If you use it from elsewhere, you consent to your information being processed in the U.S.

10 · Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and we will make the change visible before it takes effect. We will never quietly weaken it.
